Smartphones have become one of the most widespread gaming platforms in recent years. And while there are other applications on cell phones that require a lot of processing, games are the ones that have the most presence on devices around the world. And as its appeal among users grows, so do the demands. And to arm its consumers with heavy tech – literally – OnePlus has released its liquid cooler, the first of its kind designed exclusively for smartphones.

The OnePlus 45W liquid-cooled was built for heavy users who place high demands on their smartphone and need it to keep running without any heat-induced hiccups. It attaches to the back of your cell phone via a “clip” and helps dissipate the heat generated by the high temperatures of the powerful processors that power devices today. Many smartphones have an internal cooling system, and some brands such as Razer and Xiaomi have already launched air cooling; but the liquid cooler is the first time.

It consists of two important parts: the one that connects to the back of the smartphone and the second one that actually does the cooling, which is a box pump connected to the first part via a cable. After installing the cooling device on a smartphone, it immediately works and stops when it is turned off. The part that connects to the rear consists of a 40mm x 40mm TEC cooling sheet; does the external cooling pump have a 180,000 m cold radiator? with a heat dissipation power of 45 W.

According to OnePlus, the device is capable of reducing the temperature of a smartphone by up to 20°C, which is an important indicator for those who want to reduce the heat of their device. Only, let’s say, a reliable design of the cooler can become an obstacle to attracting public interest.

The liquid-cooled OnePlus 45W is available in China for 469 Yuan, equivalent to $68, roughly R$340 at current prices. There is still no word on when the product will be available worldwide.
