China is said to have set up private fake spy companies to seize the technology. The report stated that the information and goods of the Dutch space sector are of particular interest to China. China is trying to circumvent export restrictions, including creating front companies.
Chinese hackers are also trying to break into computer networks using cyber attacks. For example, MIVD writes in its annual report that a few weeks ago it was discovered that a Chinese hacking group was trying to hack into the Dutch government’s network.
It is emphasized that the Netherlands is an attractive destination for China, as it has extensive knowledge in the development of computer chips, aerospace and maritime industries.
