After the larger 32-inch version (Asus PA32DC), it’s now the turn of the Asus ProArt PA27DCE to tempt creative professionals to switch to OLED. The 26.9-inch OLED screen has a peak brightness of 350 cd/m², which is not quite enough for HDR video editing. The device is HDR-10 certified for those who want it.
According to Asus, the 4K screen (3840×2160 pixels) offers a 99 percent DCI-P3 color space and a DeltaE value of less than one for the colors. The device is already calibrated ex works, but Asus offers this monitor in two versions: with the X-rite i1 Display Pro light sensor for calibrating the monitor for $3,699 or the monitor without a light sensor for $3,299. European prices are not yet available.
The Asus ProArt PA27DCE has numerous connections: 1x DisplayPort (v1.4), 3x HDMI (v2.0), 2x USB-A (USB 3.2 Gen 1) and 2x USB-C. One port of the latter delivers up to 80 watts of power via Power Delivery to charge a laptop. That’s enough for lightweight laptops, but it might not be enough for workstations to get through a full day of heavy workloads.
The monitor contains two speakers (2x 3 watts) and the stand is height-adjustable, rotatable and tiltable for ergonomic and flexible work. The monitor is available now in the US. A European price and availability have not yet been announced.
