A SpaceXcompany founded by a billionaire Elon Musk, failed this Thursday (20) while testing his Starship rocket. The device exploded a few minutes after takeoff from the launch pad in Texas, failing to reach orbit.
Prior to launch, Musk had already warned that the Starship could take several tries to reach its target and achieve enough speed to reach orbit before crashing into the Pacific Ocean, near Hawaii. Watch the moment of the explosion:
The company spoke about the launch live via social media. Shortly after the explosion, SpaceX regretted what had happened and promised to study the errors in order to conduct new tests in the future.

“As if the flight tests weren’t exciting enough, the Starship underwent a quick, unscheduled takedown before separation. The teams will continue to analyze the data and work on our next test flight. In such a test, success depends on what we learn, and today’s test will help us improve the reliability of Starship as SpaceX strives to make life multi-planetary. Congratulations to the entire SpaceX team on an exciting first Starship integrated flight test.“, He said.
Spaceship must go to Mars
The spacecraft was designed to carry people and cargo on future missions to the Moon and Mars, but the starship, which left on Thursday, was uncrewed.

Loading fuel and refueling the rocket began at 9:00 am (Brazilia time), and hundreds of people watched the work in Boca Chica, near Brownsville, Texas. Although the Starship was designed to be reusable, the company did not attempt to vertically land the craft or lift the rocket on this test flight.
The mission could pave the way for longer space travel, and SpaceX claims the craft could carry up to 100 people on interplanetary missions and help set up a base on the moon.
“When conducting tests like this, success is measured by the amount of knowledge we can gain, which will increase the likelihood of success in the future as SpaceX quickly advances Starship development.“, the company’s website says.

The first attempt to launch the mission was scheduled for last Monday, but had to be postponed due to a problem with booster boost.
