A Samsung announced on Tuesday 18 a new app called Samsung Newswhich will allow Galaxy users in the United States to access multiple news sources in one place, similar to what some are already calling Google News, do. The goal, according to the company, in addition to being more competitive in the market, is to facilitate access to information.

Users will be able to customize the feed according to their interests, with the ability to follow certain websites and receive morning and evening panoramas; in addition, they will have access to podcasts directly from the service. As of now, Samsung News is available on testers’ devices, and there is no prediction as to when or if it will arrive in Brazil.

The application does not yet have content in Portuguese.

Brand partners initially include Bloomberg, CNN, Fortune, Fox News, Glamour, GQ, HuffPost, Money, Newsweek, New York Post, Parade, POLITICO, Refinery29, Reuters, Salon, Slate, Sports Illustrated, The Daily Beast, TheStreet. , USA TODAY and Vice. Over time, new sources will be added, as well as their integrated audiovisual works.

Users will have three ways to use and receive news: daily briefings, news feeds and podcasts. The first will produce two summaries per day, put together by a team of editors with basic newsletter-like headings; channels will allow you to classify the interface with manual selection of partner media; Podcasts, as the name suggests, will bring news and entertainment together within the app itself.

Einer Ronen, vice president of product development at Samsung, said the launch is meant to make life easier for Galaxy customers who want to be informed every day. “Our goal is to support users by giving them the opportunity to choose the perfect news,” commented the head.
