Samsung SDI’s Lithium-Ion battery development and manufacturing business plans to extended battery life used in electric vehicle cells in smaller cells designed for Samsung smartphones and tablets.
A technique known as “stacking” aims to optimize the organization of battery components such as electrodes and electrolyte to increase energy density. As a direct consequence, users who bought Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra one can be sure whether the system worked or not.
Samsung’s idea is to make a premium version of the next release of Galaxy S devices with extended battery life for users. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is currently the 5,000mAh battery champion, but the change the company wants to make could result in nearly 10% more battery life without sacrificing internal storage.

That being said, the device is likely to have the best battery life of any phone in the current market, with the S23 Ultra showing 19 hours of screen time in the Wi-Fi browsing battery test. Adding two more hours by that time would push the S24 Ultra to the top of Samsung’s rankings, beating the iPhone 14 Pro Max in this regard.
By using stacking technology in its batteries, Samsung SDI will be able to compete with local competitor LG Energy, which also uses this technology, as well as with large Chinese companies ATL and BYD. The two South Korean companies reportedly tried to partner with Samsung to develop and manufacture small multi-layer cells, but Samsung decided to work with two Chinese competitors in a joint venture.
The numbers could even be better than the S23 Ultra
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the flagship when it comes to battery life. According to data released by Phone Arena, the South Korean company’s top device currently provides nearly 19 hours of continuous navigation.

As if that wasn’t enough, the device also manages to perform well in other activities that are part of everyday life. Thus, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can watch videos for almost 9 hours, and also be able to play games without interruption for almost 7 hours. All figures are significantly higher than the previous version of the device and other devices on the market.
