The 7Days visual novel combines horror, mystery, and romance in a highly original gameplay experience. Here you control a character who is dying and must find a way to come back to life – you have only seven days to complete this mission. The game’s interface mimics a mobile phone with text messages that advance the story. The game also has hidden challenges that are only unlocked by completing certain actions.

4) Jekyll and Hyde (free download)

The classic story of the Doctor and the Beast, written by writer Robert Louis Stevenson, is told in a very original way. In Jekyll & Hyde, you take on the role of a lawyer who must solve the mystery of these characters through dialogue, analysis of evidence, and many mysteries.

The same developer has also released a new game in the same style based on The Phantom of the Opera, but it is not yet available in Portuguese.

5) The Arcana: Mystic Romance (free download)

The Arcana: Mystic Romance is the perfect visual novel for anyone who loves the tarot universe. This romance game has stories based on each of the 21 cards, but also gender and sexual orientation. The game is only available in English.

6) Mystic Messenger (Free)

Mystic Messenger is another phenomenon for downloads and players. This is a classic genre name that also uses the mobile app interface in the gameplay. The focus here is on romance, with you choosing one of several guys to contact via simulated calls or text messages. As with other visual novels, you have to choose your dialogue well to move the story forward. Unfortunately, it is not available in Portuguese.

7) Florence (BRL 9.49)

Florence is a very different visual novel in terms of theme: instead of romance, epic adventures or detective stories, here you deal with more mature themes and from a reflective point of view. In addition, instead of a lot of dialogue, images and actions speak louder here. This is a short but impressive game created by the designer responsible for the Monument Valley mobile phenomenon.

8) Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Hav (R$ 75.99)

The first chapter of the Danganronpa franchise has a bizarre story: you’re a student at a school that changes overnight, takes on a teddy bear as headmaster, and becomes the scene of mysterious murders. The investigation involves a lot of role playing and reading, but you have limited time to find the culprits.

The game is optimized for smartphone control and has English text and sound.

9) Ace Attorney Trilogy (R$114.99)

Capcom’s franchise about an aspiring lawyer who also has to solve cases on his own has already become a classic of the genre. Released for multiple consoles, the Ace Attorney trilogy is also available on Android, both in bundle format and as standalone games.

This is where you take on the role Phoenix Wright in exciting trials, forced to interrogate suspects and determine the course of testimony, finding lies and contradictions. The trilogy is only available in English.
