The first finished versions can ship to customers who pre-ordered as early as the fourth quarter of this year. Biofire Tech (Colorado, USA) is accepting orders for smart weapons with identification technology, a new development of personalized weapons available only to verified users. This was reported by Reuters.
The Biofire gun can also be activated with a fingerprint reader, one of several smart gun features designed to prevent children from accidentally shooting, reduce suicides, prevent gun grabbing, and more.
The first finished versions of the 9mm pistol can be pre-ordered to customers as early as the fourth quarter of this year, and the $1,499 standard model will be available in the second quarter of 2024.
However, during one of the demonstrations, the facial recognition system malfunctioned and the weapon did not work, giving gun enthusiasts reason to be skeptical of smart gun technology that could not provide protection at the right time. Israel handed over technologies related to smart warning about missiles and drones to Ukraine. This was expressed by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk.
“Work continues on the transfer of Israeli technologies related to smart missile and unmanned aerial vehicle warning. So this technology is officially transferred by the Israeli side. And I think we will get it in full after a while,” he said.
We also wrote that Ukraine bought Israeli systems to intercept drones. This system is essentially a smart sight that can detect drones. “Sight” determines which drone is flying and determines its exact position. After that, the drone is destroyed by small arms. The work of AI is carried out on the principle of “one shot – one shot”.
