Rector Budak, who stated that they have stepped up their work in line with the new goals they set after achieving the research university and institution accreditation goals, said: “We are taking important steps towards our new goals, internationalization and digitalization. In this context, we have made significant investments in technological infrastructure to turn our hospital into a ‘Digital Hospital’. For example, we implemented projects such as digital archive, online doctor, digital medicine and warehouse management in our hospital. Our Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital, the pride of our country with the health services it provides, once again demonstrates its leading role in the health sector with its digital hospital quality. Digitization is a process, not an outcome, and we will continue new practices in digitization. We will continuously improve our systems and technology infrastructure,” he said.
QUICK AND EASY ACCESS TO INFORMATION
Rector Budak, who notes that the archive system has been digitized and that the data is faster and easier to access, and that a lot of data is directly accessible with the new system: “We have quick access to the current data of our hospital. Data such as how many beds we have in which ward, how many patients are treated in which outpatient clinic, must be tracked in accordance with health quality standards. We have taken an important step in digitization by strengthening our hospital’s technological infrastructure and introducing new software and computer systems. We follow technology closely and continue to invest in making our teaching hospital an age-old healthcare facility. Previously, we have refreshed and updated the instruments, equipment and medical devices in all our clinics and departments. Now we are making technological investments to make our work more efficient and effective. Thanks to our technological investments, we have achieved significant paper savings.”

Rector Budak emphasized that a number of requirements must be met in order to be able to talk about quality in healthcare: “For this, the care you provide must be fair, on time, effective, efficient, safe, patient- and employee-oriented. We carry out our work in accordance with these principles and have therefore been declared A Plus hospital by the Ministry of Health with a score that can be called a record. We are committed to putting our health services shoulder to shoulder with every employee of Ege University to make our health services much higher. We will continue with our investments,” he said.
