The launch of the Galaxy S24, Samsung’s next flagship smartphone and one of the terminals, is still a few months away. the most expected from the next generationbut thanks to the flow of information that’s happening, we already have some pretty interesting rumors on the table that leave us with the first brushstrokes of what to expect.

According to South Korean outlet The Elec, the Galaxy S24 will use a feature previously exclusive to electric cars, stacked batteries. Apparently, this would be an adaptation of those to the specifics of the smartphone, but in any case, the important thing is that thanks to this stacking, it will be possible to increase the density of the batteries by about 10%.

That increase in density can be used in two different ways. Samsung could make a Galaxy S24 with a higher battery capacity while keeping the size of the Galaxy S23, but it could also shape a thinner and more compact Galaxy S24 while keeping the battery capacity we saw in the current generation model. We don’t know which option the South Korean giant will choose, but both represent important progress and have their advantages, that’s for sure.

It will be interesting to see if this ends up setting a trend, if confirmed. If so, it is clear that he will represent an important business opportunity for Samsung SDIthe division of the South Korean giant in charge of battery design and production, as other important companies in the smartphone sector would eventually turn to it to supply them with said battery types.

Coming back to the Galaxy S24, I remind you that the launch of this smartphone is expected in February 2024 and that according to the latest information we had the opportunity to see, everything points to whate will be a distinctly continuous terminal in terms of design and finish quality, which means we shouldn’t expect much change from the current generation in this regard.

With regard to the hardware, some information dares to assume that Samsung will once again use its own SoC, namely the Exynos 2400, a chip that could have 10-core CPU and GPU based on custom RDNA3 architecture and adapted to the peculiarities of the smartphone. This GPU could feature 256 shaders and will retain all the key advancements AMD made with its new architecture, including new ray tracing cores and dedicated AI cores.
