Scientists have developed a new control system and electronics that increase the efficiency of quantum computers.

The authors of the development are engineers of the US Department of Energy’s National Fermi Acceleration Laboratory. According to journalists, electronics uses signals from classical devices as instructions for the computer’s quantum bits or qubits. Electronic devices are needed to measure the state of qubits. This information is transferred back to normal computers.

The main advantage of the system is its cheapness. The required compact boards are approximately 10 times cheaper to produce than the production of conventional systems. Their simplest configuration allows you to control eight qubits.

It is also stated that the development of the radio frequency panel and layout took about six months. There were also problems at work. For example, engineers needed to avoid schemes that would catch Wi-Fi interference.
