Expectations for the Google Pixel Fold smartphone are high. All indications are that the device will be unveiled during Google I/O along with the Pixel 7A. In recent days, a leaked video shows that this is likely one of the smartphone prototypes.

Pixel 7A: Google’s entry-level cell phone could have Face ID

The Pixel Fold has already had renderings released, but so far we don’t have much official information about the product. While the video doesn’t reveal much, it reinforces rumors that offer an announcement during Google I/O starting May 10th.. The leak was made by reliable leaker Cuba Wojciechowski, who usually posts correct news about the smartphone segment.

The video was secretly recorded about a month ago.

Judging by the video, a folding smartphone is not much different from any other, for example, the Galaxy Z Fold. As a prototype, the version of the device has no logos, a different design, only a selfie camera on the front. Therefore, the final design of the Pixel Fold should be different from what is shown in the images. In The Verge’s response, Cuba does not reveal its anonymous source, but claims it’s a Pixel Fold, and the leaked video was recorded about a month ago..

There’s no way to know if this is actually a video from a Pixel Fold (or from an old smartphone prototype), but the credibility of the leak lends some weight to the leak. Apparently, the Pixel Fold will cost $1,500 with a 5.8-inch screen when folded and a 7.6-inch screen when open. The smartphone must have a Tensor G2 chipset, the same as the Pixel 7A, and a battery that lasts up to 24 hours. According to rumors circulating on the internet, the Google foldable smartphone will be unveiled alongside the 7A entry-level smartphone during Google I/O starting May 10th. We’ll find out in a couple of weeks if Big Tech is ready to introduce its foldable phone to the world.
