A group of researchers in China has successfully conducted the country’s first test of a full-scale prototype of a high-speed magnetic suspension (levitation, maglev) train that can reach

The magnetic suspension train developed by CASIC (China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation) is designed to carry passengers and cargo at speeds of 1,000 km/h or even higher in a special low-vacuum tube. The developers believe that in the future it will be used to move between clusters of megacities.
The test was carried out at 623 km/h without vacuum under normal atmospheric conditions in Datong city, Shanxi Province, where an experimental track for superconducting magnetic suspension experiments is being built.
According to the project participants, the experiment had previously confirmed the scientific rationality of such a high-speed train design.
The research group plans to conduct additional tests to achieve maximum speed and check the reliability of all systems.
Today, China uses high-speed trains with a maximum speed of 350 km/h.
