One of the enthusiastic developers managed to port the iOS emulator to the Android operating system. The project was based on the touchHLE tool created by developer Hikari no Yume earlier this year, which can emulate legacy iOS programs on Mac and Windows computers.
iOS emulation on non-intended hardware is quite difficult. But some developers are successfully running older versions of iOS or iPhone OS. Older versions of the operating system have much less security features and are designed for simpler hardware, making them easier to run on other platforms.
You can’t run the full version of iOS with touchHLE, but you can emulate some very old iPhone apps and games like Super Monkey Ball and Crash Bandicoot: Nitro Kart 3D. Now developer ciciplusplus has ported touchHLE to Android so users can play old iPhone games on Android devices. According to the video on Twitter the project is working fine but there is a problem.
The touchHLE emulator has many limitations when running on a computer, and all of them are still available in the Android version. For example, applications only run on SoCs with AArch64 architecture. Also, this iOS emulator has not been tested with other apps and games other than Super Monkey Ball. And of course, there should be original installers for the apps you want to run. Those interested can familiarize themselves with the project on GitHub.
