iOS 17 will add a new lock screen, Apple Music and app library features

According to a Weibo post from the same account this week that revealed that Apple will launch the iPhone 14 in yellow, iOS 17 will include new features and changes to the lock screen, Apple Music, app library and control center.

The post lists a few possible iOS 17 features:

  • Lock screen font size options
  • Button to share your lock screen design with other iPhone users
  • Apple Music lyrics can be viewed on lock screen
  • Redesigned Apple Music with a simplified interface
  • Application library folders can be renamed manually
  • Control Center design changes
  • Flashlight brightness slider can be adjusted freely as with volume slider

iOS 17 is said to have updated Control Center, but the rest of the information the account provides is new. None of the changes will be groundbreaking, but it will still be a significant improvement. Overall, iOS 17 is said to be a modest update aimed at improving stability and performance.

While the source of this rumor is certain that the iPhone 14 will come out in yellow a few months ago, they do not have long-term experience with Apple rumors, so there is no guarantee that this information will turn out to be true.

On an episode of the podcast last week Mark Gurman of the MacRumors Show Bloomberg He explained what to expect from iOS 17, including improvements to the Find My and Wallet apps. A prominent Apple reporter said the update is unlikely to include “significant new features” such as the customizable lock screen introduced in iOS 16.

Apple is expected to announce iOS 17 at its WWDC keynote on June 5. The first beta of the update will be available to developers right after the keynote, while the public beta will likely roll out in July. As usual, the update will be rolled out widely in September, around the time new iPhones are released.
