Alphabet this week released the first report regarding the collection for the first quarter of this year. Figures released by Google’s parent company showed upbeat Google Pixel 7 sales numbers.given that the sector showed growth compared to last year.

The “Other Google” segment not only counts numbers from the Google Pixel 7, but also from other devices such as the Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6A, and Pixel Watch. Data for the first quarter showed the company achieved 8.8% growth compared to the same period in 2022.

The growth has led Google to say it is “satisfied” with device sales in the first three months of this year. The performance and cloud business numbers seem to be doing well for the international giant.

Report shows Google numbers

However, data relating to the first quarter of this year showed YouTube performing slightly below expectations due to TikTok. Figures from the report showed that the ad revenue on the platform reached $6.69 billion.

The value, which corresponds to about 33.9 billion reais according to the current quote, is only slightly higher than the expectations made by the company at the beginning of the year. This is because they believed they had managed to raise $6.64 billion. Even though the value has been reached, it is a warning sign for the coming months.

Even though it managed to deliver encouraging numbers in some areas, a report published by Alphabet indicated that the company had to lay off 12,000 employees in January. This number corresponds to 6% of the total workforce.

However, there was also a hiring of new employees, about 190,000 new jobs. This is more than the 163,000 people who were hired by the company between January and March last year.
