I’m the boss of my Twitter account: the social network is testing the “circle”, a tool for limiting conversations

Twitter, the protagonist of the last few weeks after the social network was acquired by Elon Musk, is exiting the so-called ‘Twitter Circle’. A new tool to further mute interaction among the users of the platform that came first in beta version. The point is that we can choose the circle of users we interact with, rather than open the conversation to the rest of the network.

Twitter conversations, more private

Twitter has made ‘Circle’ official, a set of tools to make interactions more private. There are three main columns in this toolkit, all limit interaction on tweets and revolve our account around the people we want.

  • ‘Explanation’: This option is available to users. leave the conversations they’re talking aboutBut they don’t want to be a part of it.
  • remove followers: This functionality is already available on the web, but Twitter assures they will implement a faster and easier method to delete followers without blocking.
  • Change replies in tweets: Even if someone has replied to a tweet, we can change the reply options to change who can and who can’t.

Before sending any tweet, we will see the option: share with our circle or share with all followers. Similar to Instagram’s “best friends”, people in your circle will see a green badge below tweets posted to that circle. not wanting to retweet or sharebe restricted

These functions are currently implemented on both the web and a small group of users of the beta version of Twitter on iOS and Android. Scheduled after trial period that these functions reach other users in the stable version of the app.
