On April 26, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in Washington.
As reported by Ukrinform, reported Reuters.
“The meeting was held at Musk’s request, as Yoon is in the United States for a six-day state visit,” said Choi Sang-mok, the South Korean president’s senior economics secretary.
Yoon presented South Korea as an ideal country for the construction of the Tesla Gigafactory, citing the presence of advanced industrial robots and highly skilled workers in the country.
“The president also said he would actively support Tesla in terms of location, human resources and taxes if he made an investment decision,” the senior economics secretary said.
Musk noted that South Korea remains one of the main candidates for the construction of Tesla’s gigafactories.
As reported by Ukrinform, South Korea and the United States signed 23 memorandums to strengthen cooperation in advanced industries and energy.
