The Fighting UAV Competition, organized under TEKNOFEST with the support of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, was held at Yunuseli Airport. Alinur Aktaş, Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, visited the young people fighting in technology at their workplace at the airport and said they were happy to host such an important organization.

BURSA (IGFA) – Bursa hosts the Fighting Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Competition organized by Baykar as part of the TEKNOFEST technology competitions.

With UAV competitions, the organization encourages students to undertake scientific and technical studies, especially by guiding them towards unmanned aerial vehicle technologies, thus developing their world of ideas. UAV competitions, organized by TÜBİTAK since 2016 and held in the framework of TEKNOFEST since 2018, are held in Bursa.

Alinur Aktaş, Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, visited young people struggling in technology in their workshops at Yunuseli Airport. President Aktaş, who received information about his work from the young people and gave them various gifts, said: “With the works carried out in the framework of the national technological movement, domestic and national production in every field in our country is increasing. In terms of UAV technology, our country has become one of the most successful countries in the world. This success not only increases the pride of our country, but also increases our responsibility. The fact that 1,228 teams entered the competition this year, an 86 percent increase from last year, shows the interest of our young people in technology. Congratulations to all our competitors. As Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, we have always supported such events and we will continue to support them. Because I think we need to develop a science-based perspective to keep up with the times we live in. We must draw strength from our past and shape our future according to the demands of the times.”
