Samsung introduced the Pro Endurance microSD memory card. As the name suggests, the novelty is durable and reliable, designed for situations where the memory card is constantly used, such as CCTV cameras. By the way, this is the second product from a South Korean manufacturer in the category of long-lasting drives. The first was the T7 Shield solid state drive announced last week.
Samsung claims that the Pro Endurance memory card can work uninterruptedly for 16 years, so users don’t have to replace it every 2-3 years and don’t worry about losing content. 16 years is about 140,160 hours of continuous recording, which is a lot. For comparison, the previous generation rugged microSD cards had a lifespan of up to 5 years, or 43,480 hours.
The Samsung Pro Endurance memory card is just as durable when it comes to external factors. It has protection against water, magnetic fields, X-rays and extreme temperatures. The card will save files in almost any situation. While speeds aren’t the key to this memory card, there are some improvements. Pro Endurance provides write speeds of up to 40MB/s compared to 30MB/s on the previous generation. The device has Class 10 classification with UHS-III and V30 and is also suitable for 4K resolution video recording.
Samsung Pro Endurance microSD is available for sale at $11 for 32GB and $55 for 256GB.
