Elected President of Paraguay, Santiago Peñaconfirmed this Sunday, after the results of the presidential election that brought him victory, that will restore relations with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduroalmost four years later.

Peña stated in an interview that once the government takes office, Paraguay will reopen its embassy in Venezuela, which closed in 2019 when former President Mario Abdo announced the end of relations at the same time that Maduro assumed the presidency after being re-elected.
