Periodic tire and fluid level checks are important to keep your vehicle safe.
Improving mobility and safety is part of Bridgestone’s global responsibility.
Bridgestone gives you some travel tips to keep minors safe when they travel with you in your vehicle:
1. Don’t eat in the car: In addition to the advice to keep the vehicle clean, it is very important that boys and girls do not eat while the vehicle is in motion, as in the event of a collision, braking or sudden movement, the infant may accidentally drown.
2. Location of minors: Colombian law since 2002 specifies that children under the age of ten must be transported in the back seat and makes it mandatory to use restraints according to the age of the passengers.
3. Always look in the back seat before getting out.: Be sure not to leave children alone in cars. However, in some cases this can happen by accident and therefore it is necessary to make sure that minors are out and not in the back of the car.
4. Protection of pets or loose objects: Not only must a minor be well insured, whether wearing a seatbelt or in a special seat, it is also important that pets and objects carried in the car are secured so that they do not fly into or out of the car, in case accident.
5. Safe doors and windows: Most vehicles have a locking system on the doors and windows to prevent minors from opening from the inside. It is also recommended to always lock the doors so that they cannot be opened from the outside while the vehicle is in motion.
6. Always check your car: It is very important to carry out a thorough inspection during maintenance, as well as to monitor the condition of the tires: that they are not worn, that they do not have bumps caused by impacts, and that they have the correct tire pressure. Similarly, oil and various fluids, headlights, electrical system, brakes, and windshield wipers, among others, must be checked.
These helpful tips will go a long way in celebrating Children’s Day on April 29 with road safety. “At Bridgestone, we are committed to offering easier, safer and more affordable integrated mobility, and we are constantly working to develop a culture of traffic for children in Colombia. For this reason, we want to encourage all drivers to be aware not only of their actions behind the wheel, but also of the special care required by underage passengers inside vehicles,” said Andrea Barba, Corporate Communications Manager. and social responsibility Bridgestone Latin America North.
Promoting mobility and safety is part of Bridgestone’s global commitment to social responsibility, articulated in the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, which consists of 8 values that begin with the letter “E” in English (Energy, Environment, Efficiency, Expansion, Savings, Emotions, Ease, Empowerment and opportunities).
