Environmental groups have teamed up to sue the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)Federal Aviation Administration /Federal Aviation Administration). Cause? US agency would allow multiple rocket launches starshipfrom SpaceXwithout analyzing the degree of possible environmental damage.

The first release was recent and has a lot to say about it: it happened on the day 20 April, in an area south of Texas (near Boca Chica Beach). A rocket that boasts 120 meters highachieved a satisfactory result in the initial test flight, reaching a maximum altitude of 39 kilometers; however, the equipment ran into problems that forced SpaceX to authorize immediate destruction on top Gulf of Mexico.

After the explosion, hazardous materials such as metal fragments were violently scattered around the area, near Lower Grand Valley River National Wildlife Refuge.

This area has high environmental importance, according to the groups involved. ABOUT Center for Biological Diversity (Center for Biological Diversity) sent a statement about the situation:

“Rocket launches and explosions cause significant damage due to increased vehicle traffic and extreme heat, noise and light pollution from construction and launch activities (…) Rocket explosions scattered debris from the surrounding habitat and started forest fires.”

A Federal Aviation Administration was already aware of the seriousness of the situation and they confirmed that they were investigating the accident. The lawsuit made the agency fully responsible for conducting a full environmental review of the consequences caused by the actions SpaceXaccording to connected world.
