The board of Westfield High School in Texas, USA, tried to stop a student fight, but the youths attacked her and beat her until she was injured.
The video, which went viral on Tuesday, shows students inciting a fight. At some point, an adult woman in a pink jacket penetrates the crowd and tries to stop the beatings, but the violence does not stop, the young people decide to attack her.
The US media collected testimonies from teachers and staff of the institution, in which they reported that fights were ongoing, at risk to students and staff.
“He was attacked by three or four other minors. They just threw her to the ground and started kicking and pulling her hair,” said a teacher consulted by reporter Deven Clark; however, he requested anonymity to avoid retribution.
The school authorities issued a statement confirming that the altercation took place between ninth grade students.
According to this version, the school administration and the police were able to intervene and quickly stop the fight, as well as identify the students involved in it in order to punish them.
They acknowledged that as a result of the incident, one of the employees was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
All students involved in an altercation were expected to be subject to the maximum available disciplinary action: “There will be no tolerance for altercation or interruption of instruction.”
