Brave and smart move to start this Nokia XR21, because Nokia itself creates a parallel that will cause many goosebumps. Yes, of course, I mean the one you can read in the title of this report, which is that the company claims that When it comes to robustness, this new smartphone plays in the same league as the Nokia 3310., i.e. probably the most durable mobile phone in history (if we ignore the durable models, of course). If you lived and knew those days, you will remember that it was commonly referred to as a brick, but not for its design, mind you, but for its more than proven resistance to drops, impacts and so on.

This of course led to it one of the most remembered phones and also one of the most popularWell, apart from various jokes and nicknames, all of us who use it stopped being afraid of bumps and falls for a while. And that’s why I say that remembering it is a bold bet, because it means creating very high expectations among users. Now, if they succeeded, and at least in their specifications it seems so, the proposal is most interesting.

So let’s start by evaluating the resistance parameters of this Nokia XR21. The first thing is to indicate it it is MIL-STD-810H certified for durability drop, dust and water resistant, which is undoubtedly a big guarantee in this regard. In addition, and according to internal tests carried out by the company, it is able to withstand fall from 1.8 metersstay submerged in water to a depth of 1.5 meters for one hour and withstands the same pressure as a 100 bar water jet (higher than what would come out of fire hoses) at 80 degrees Celsius.

To this end, all the materials used in its construction have been selected based on their durability. From its die-cast aluminum internal construction to its Corning Gorilla Glass-protected screen, Victus Nokia claims to have focused on durability and resistance, as well as the ability to operate in challenging thermal environments (it can operate in a temperature range of between -20 °C and +55 °C). In addition, to increase reliability, the battery of this Nokia XR21 can provide two full days of autonomy according to the manufacturer.

When it comes to its specifications, this Nokia 3310 review is a full-fledged smartphone. It has a screen 6.49 inches with FullHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels at 20:9 aspect ratio), with a refresh rate of up to 120 hertzglow 450 nits that go up to 550 with special modeand the ability to represent about 80% of the NTSC color space, and this can be used with wet hands as well as gloves. Additionally, as indicated above, it is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

Already inside this Nokia XR21 we find SoC Snapdragon 695 5Gintegrated with an octa-core CPU (2 x 2.2 gigahertz and 6 x 1.7 gigahertz) Adreno 619 GPU. 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage. The set is battery powered 4,800 milliamps with fast charging at 33 watts. So, as you can see, this Nokia XR21 fits into the middle class like a glove, even if its specifications in terms of durability are significantly above average.

As for connectivity, its own SoC already tells us that it offers in its cellular side 5Gwhich is supplemented by WiFi a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.1 and geolocation with major networks. There is also a USB-C port for data, sound and charging. However, if we do not want to use headphones, it also integrates two stereo speakers with OZO reproduction, which offer surround sound, and which can scale up to 96 decibels.

The design of the Nokia XR21 camera is not bad either. The main one is made up of two elements, a 64-megapixel main sensor along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle one, complemented by two LED flashes. As for the front, which is located in the hole at the top center of the screen, a 16-megapixel sensor is fixed on it.

The Nokia XR21 is already on sale on Nokia’s website and its price is 599 euros.
