The all-electric fifth-generation three-door MINI continues the success story of the legendary model. The new MINI Cooper Electric embodies the brand-specific driving pleasure of the future with an unrivaled go-kart feel.

The next generation of the MINI family is represented by the MINI Cooper Electric. The new version of the legendary 3-door MINI is geared towards electric driving pleasure and is available in two performance levels. With its incredibly agile handling, the MINI Cooper Electric represents the zero-emission premium mobility of the future.

Initially launched in 2020, the all-electric MINI Cooper SE increased sales by 25.5% in 2022 and became the most popular MINI model, with more than 43,000 emission-free MINI units sold worldwide last year. Every fifth MINI on the road is now powered by electricity. The continued huge success of the original MINI was recently demonstrated by the one millionth production anniversary of the current fourth generation MINI 3-Door.

Electrified “karting feel” with maximum torque right out of the box

In the new MINI family, maximum torque is available right out of the box in both the 135kW MINI Cooper E and the 160kW MINI Cooper SE. Accelerates without delay and without interruption from the gearbox. A high-voltage lithium-ion battery is installed in the floor of the MINI Cooper Electric for optimum traction and weight distribution, as well as improved vehicle stability and agility. In this way, MINI redefines the “go-kart feeling” that gives the brand its identity, continually perpetuating the concept of urban driving that has been so successful for over 60 years.

MINI has been able to draw on the development experience of the BMW Group to improve the driving dynamics of the new MINI Cooper Electric. This car has firmly entered the history of the company’s brand from the moment the restyled generation of the 3-door MINI entered the market in 2001 until the fifth generation of the model. Continuous progress in technology, efficiency and power delivery reflects the respect for a history steeped in the tradition of the popular MINI model, and now again raises driving pleasure to a new level.

Increased autonomy and maximum flexibility

The battery capacity of the MINI Cooper E is 40.7 kWh and that of the MINI Cooper SE is 54.2 kWh. This gives the new models an expected range of 300 to 400 kilometers, greatly expanding the range of excursions in and out of urban environments.

With its characteristic MINI space concept, the MINI Cooper Electric demonstrates the maximum flexibility of a purpose-built vehicle. Offering maximum versatility, the interior design allows for increased boot space and includes four seats.

Along with the MINI Countryman, which will be built at the BMW Group Leipzig plant from November 2023, the new MINI Cooper Electric is ready for the all-electric future of MINI. MINI Aceman will join the new family of models from 2024.
