Today in San Francisco, a company called Augmental came up with a very interesting and surprising device. The company’s scientists have developed a device that will allow you to control computers and phones by speaking. They called it the MouthPad.

Called the MouthPad, the device takes over the role of an existing touchpad to control a standard computer. Thus, thanks to this device, disabled people will be able to control the computer using only language.

Each product is made to order by 3D scanning of the customer’s oral cavity. The fact that the device is a palatal prosthesis does not create an obstructive problem during speech. With an average thickness of 7.5 gr and 0.7 mm, the MouthPad can work up to 5 hours with active battery usage. It has a charging time of 2 hours.

After fixing it in the mouth, you can use the cursor to control the movements of the tongue on the sensor plate. Pressing the tongue on the palate is perceived as clicking with the left mouse button, pulling – clicking with the right button. Some head movements and bite-sensitive entry movements are also believed to be incorporated into the device.

MouthPad, which is in the testing phase, may get to know the user closely in the coming months.
