Google is once again updating the Home app with new updates that will make it even more useful for users. The Home app lets you control various devices such as smart lighting, thermostats, cameras, speakers and even TVs. With the Google Home app, you can turn lights on and off, adjust the thermostat’s temperature, view camera feeds, play music on compatible speakers, and more. You can also use the program to create routines that automate multiple actions with a single command. The latest version includes a new inbox, redesigned lighting controls, and an updated bell icon for notifications that make it easier than ever to manage your smart home.

The Inbox ribbon replaces the Activity tab.

One of the most notable changes is the introduction of the inbox feed, which replaces the activity tab. The notification bell icon at the top of the Favorites tab will take you to your inbox where you can see all your recent notifications. Meanwhile, the Activity tab will only show the history view.

Another change is the redesigned lighting controls, which now include a pill-shaped slider, color controls, and lighting presets. Currently only available in the Test version, this update adjusts the temperature and color of the smart lights, making it easier for you to choose the perfect atmosphere for your home.

While it’s unclear when the new version will be available to all users, it’s clear that Google is committed to improving the Home app. More recently, Google has brought some interesting features to the Home app. With these new updates, the app should become an all-in-one tool for managing your smart home.
