they went their separate ways over 11,000 police officers to put an end to any attempts at disruption, and the Republic campaign group said its leader, Graham Smith, was arrested along with five other protesters.
London Police Chief Mark Rowley warned on Friday that there would be “very low interrupt tolerance.”
Police did not confirm Smith’s arrest, but said on Twitter that they had arrested four people on suspicion of causing harm to the community and three people on suspicion of possessing items that could cause criminal damage.
Republic said that five of his supporters were arrested hundreds of their banners were confiscated.
