It continues to amaze its fans. The NTDev team, which previously created the Tiny11 build, was able to run this version of the system using only the memory of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 mobile graphics card.
For this, the developers created a RAM disk in the video memory. This technology was popular when modern high-speed SSDs were not yet available. With the help of a RAM disk, it was possible to completely transfer the operating system to RAM, which increased the responsiveness of the operating system.
NTDev went even further and used a GeForce RTX 3050 in a laptop. This version of the card is equipped with 4 GB of GDDR6 video memory. A virtual machine using a 3550 MB RAM disk was created using the GPU RAM Drive utility. This system delivered read and write speeds of 1,960 and 2,497 MB/s, slightly lower than an M.2 SSD on PCIe 3.0.
The Tiny11 operating system itself is a build of Windows 11 using only 2GB of RAM and 8GB of persistent memory.
