Four crew members aboard the International Space Station took a short trip in SpaceX Dragons to transport the vehicle from one docking port to another.
SpaceX Dragon successfully docked at the front attachment point of the International Space Station’s Harmony module with Steve Bowen of Expedition 69 crew and Woody Hoburg of NASA, UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andriy Fedyaev. At 8:01 am EDT. In less than an hour, they were removed from the space-oriented port of the Harmony module.
This was the ship’s 27th transfer in space station history. The move made room for an uncrewed SpaceX Dragon spacecraft to arrive at the station with cargo as part of the company’s 28th commercial resupply mission for NASA, scheduled to launch in June. NASA’s SpaceX Crew-6 members are scheduled to return to Earth in August.
The Dragon spacecraft can carry 7 passengers to and from Earth orbit. It is the only operational spacecraft capable of delivering significant cargo to Earth. It was also the first private spacecraft to carry people to the space station.
