Victims of a run over by Venezuelan immigrants in front of a homeless center in the Texas city of Brownsville. increased to eight after one of the wounded died at a local hospital, authorities said.

The accident happened early Sunday morning. when a car crashed into a group of pedestrians waiting at a bus stop in front of Bishop Enrique San Pedro Ozanam’s Center for the Homeless in Brownsville, which has been converted into a shelter by hundreds of immigrants passing through the area.

According to Brownsville Police Lieutenant Martin Sandoval, in the incident First killed seven Venezuelan immigrants and ten others with injuries of varying severity were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but one of them later died.

The author of the outrage, identified as Hispanic, resident of Brownsville.whose name was not released, several witnesses to the incident were held until police arrived, authorities said, without specifying his nationality.

Sandoval stated at a press conference that the person does not cooperate with the authoritiestherefore, it is not known whether the hit was intentional or accidental.

The official added that Authorities took a blood sample from the driver and that a toxicology test was ordered to determine if he had used drugs or alcohol.

“Brownsville Police never thought it was a deliberate actbut it is a factor that we have to analyze,” Sandoval said.
