Microsoft comes to the fore with an update for Teams. Not only will there be new images to use as backgrounds, but next month you’ll also have some animated options to hide the view of your workspace during a meeting.
Great news for those who regularly engage in online conversations about Microsoft Teams. Users will soon have a set of new backgrounds. In addition to a fresh load of image material, the communication platform will also have animated backgrounds for the first time.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19 and the associated times of working from home and social distancing, systems such as teams have become indispensable in many professional fields. The platform has over 300 million monthly active users and is currently available in 181 countries and more than 40 languages.
Microsoft says people are now holding twice as many video conferences through Teams as they did before the pandemic. It’s no coincidence that this solid update is the biggest since we launched a first collection of wallpapers this damn 2020.
The Microsoft design team put a lot of thought into the redesigned Teams image bank to represent the widest possible audience and how most users work. The new backgrounds should not only promote good cooperation, but also well-being, productivity and concentration. This allows users to work comfortably without losing their individuality.
The popularity of certain images shows that people equally enjoy using more playful and original scenes as well as more realistic backgrounds such as a desk or a living room. This proves once again that not everyone thinks or acts in the same way.
With dozens of backgrounds available, it’s not just a matter of choosing between cheerful colors and fun images or hyper-realistic images. This new update also includes special backgrounds designed specifically for people on the autism spectrum, people with limited vision or hearing, and people with certain mental illnesses. Ultimately, you can’t spell teams without “team”, the entire team.
