Shares rose 4% after the company said the May mission would be the final test of the spaceflight system and astronaut experience before it goes into commercial service.
Backed by billionaire Richard Branson last May, the company delayed the start of commercial flights to the first quarter of 2023 due to the supply chain crisis and labor shortages.
Virgin Galactic has reopened spaceship tickets for $450,000 per person, with an initial deposit of $150,000, after completing a lengthy upgrade on its central tourist spaceship in February.
As reported by Ukrinform, the “Tianzhou-6” cargo ship and the “Changzheng-7 Y7” carrier rocket, which is supposed to launch it into orbit, have been deployed to the Wenchang Space Base in southern China.
