Images of the Pixel Fold surfaced in a YouTube ad ahead of the expected announcement at Google I/O today. According to 9to5Google, a closed YouTube video features several NBA stars and a few close-ups of the upcoming Pixel Fold in daily use.
A promotional video titled “Google Pixel x NBA: The Greatest Watch Party” was shared in a tweet posted by the official Google Pixel account last night. It looks like Google released the link early, as the tweet instructed readers to “check it out tomorrow.”
The video shows the Pixel Fold from different angles and also shows some of its features. We see a lot of hinge (and frame) action, showing the fold both closed and open, and placed on a partially open table at a 90-degree angle. A simulated video call featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo also demonstrates how the camera feed can seamlessly switch between internal and external displays.
The video doesn’t give us any information about Pixel Fold’s technical specifications, but Roland Quandt, known for his sources, claims that the device’s internal screen is 7.6 inches (2208×1840, 379 ppi) OLED, while its external screen is 7.6 inches (2208×1840, 379 ppi) OLED. the screen is 5.8 inches (2092×1080, 408 ppi) OLED.
