ASUS has expanded its catalog of computing machines under the Google operating system with the Chromebook CX34 Flip, which happens to be one of the best convertible devices made for Chrome OS.

This model shares general characteristics with the Vive CX34, which ASUS introduced at CES and which was dedicated to gaming, while the new model is intended for general computer use. Both confirm hardware upgrade Chromebooks and its build quality and finishes using premium materials like this model’s aluminum.

ASUS repeats the hinge design ErgoLift which the company uses in the “Flip” models for Windows and which allow you to place the screen on top of the keyboard and use any type of angle 360 degrees with the flexibility it implies by being able to use it as a laptop, tablet and ‘tent’ modes for presentations or drawing/annotating with a stylus. The convertible meets military-grade MIL-STD 810H crash and drop test standards.

The screen is a Multi-touch IPS with NanoEdge panel Three-sided to maximize viewing area and screen-to-body ratio. It has 14 inches diagonal, native resolution WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) in aspect ratio 16:10 and with a refresh rate 144 Hz. ASUS includes a stylus located in a special recess in the chassis for storage and charging.

equip twelfth generation Intel processors with models like the Core i7-1255U, supplemented with 16 GB of RAM and a PCIe NVMe SSD with a capacity of up to 512 GB. Connectivity is also interesting with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth wireless standards, USB 3.2 Gen2 ports and HDMI 2.1 output for connecting to external displays.

It also has a webcam with a privacy cover when not in use and a microSD memory card slot. Its keyboard is full-size backlit with 1.4mm key travel for more comfortable typing. The keyboard, touchpad and palm rest are additionally protected by a layer of antibacterial protection. As for autonomy, the manufacturer promises up to 10 hours of use.

The ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX34 Flip in the new color “Zinc” and the latest version of Chrome OS with full access to Google Play and the ability to run Android and Linux applications will be available this quarter. Yes, Chromebooks are a real alternative to Windows and macOS today.
