Apple released this Thursday (11) the first trailer for the second season of Foundation, a production inspired by Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi books. The 1:30 teaser leaves fans waiting for the story to continue and uses the tagline “All empires fall” to set the mood for next season. Season 2 of Foundation premieres on Apple TV+ on July 14, 2023 and will consist of ten episodes.

The production is inspired by the books of Isaac Asimov, but does not match the story told by the author. According to AppleA new Foundation series will be released every Friday starting July 14th.. The plot of the second season takes place more than a century after the end of the first: “The vengeful queen plans to destroy the Empire from within. Hari, Gaal and Salvor discover a colony of mentalists with psychic powers that threaten to change history. its religious phase, spreading the Church of Seldon throughout the cosmos and triggering the Second Crisis: War with the Empire.”

The series is inspired by Asimov’s books, but does not strictly follow them.

Apple products are faithful to the production of Asimov’s books, but do not seek to strictly adapt the work. The plot is the same, Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) predicts the fall of the Empire. Knowing that the fall is imminent, he creates a Foundation to preserve the knowledge of mankind. On this basis, Apple created a sci-fi series with its own elements, which, like books, tells a story that spans the ages.

The cast includes returning Luara Byrne, Cassian Bilton and Terrence Mann, as well as debuts from Abella Lafland (Brother Constant), Kulvinder Gere (Poly Verisof), Ella-Rae Smith (Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion), Holt McCallany (Keeper Jagger Faunt) , Rachel House (Thellem Bond), Nimrat Kaur (Yanna Seldon), Ben Daniels (Bel Riose) and Dimitri Leonidas (Hober Mallow). Production is provided by Skydance Television and directed by David S. Goyer. Season 2 of Foundation premieres July 14 exclusively on Apple TV+.
