A ASUS officially launched on Tuesday 9, its new wearable device presented as an ally of health monitoring: a smart bracelet VivoWatch 5 AERO. With a wide range of functions, the device can measure the user’s blood pressure, blood oxygenation, and vital signs with built-in microelectrical and optical sensors.
According to the company, the device can track heart rate during rest, exercise and sleep, as well as analyze sleep patterns and nighttime snoring, providing a comprehensive view of the user in various situations. The device has various monitoring modes and a graphical display that allows users to view their health statistics in real time.
To record vital signs in detail, users can place their index finger on the bracelet’s sensors for 30 seconds and then share the results with their doctors via the app. ASUS Health Connectwhich will serve as a platform for collecting this information.
Wearable devices will also help in the user’s training program.
VivoWatch 5 AERO will also come with advanced training features such as running, treadmill and swimming modes, as well as built-in GPS, antennas and sensors to track routes even without a smartphone in hand. All this with a battery life of up to seven days in power saving mode. Also, the bracelet is dustproof and waterproof at a depth of up to 50 meters.
According to ASUS, the goal of the new version is to help people better understand their health and develop healthier habits. Along with that, it also logically includes differentiation in the wearables market.
The average price of the VivoWatch 5 AERO in the international market is 120 US dollars (about 597 reais). The product is already available in some countries such as Taiwan, but it is not known when and if it will arrive in Brazil, much less how much it will cost here with taxes.
