Microsoft once again reminded that official support for the latest version of the proprietary Internet Explorer browser will end in the near future. The company urges not to wait for this moment, but to switch to a more modern and secure solution as soon as possible.

Microsoft is urging corporate customers to stop using Internet Explorer 11 on their own, as support will end on June 15, 2022. This means that the company will no longer release any security patches, and browser users will be more vulnerable to attackers, not to mention modern standards compatibility and usability.

Microsoft warns of imminent “death” of Internet Explorer

“We know that waiting for something to happen can be stressful. Therefore, we recommend not to wait, but to plan your decommissioning date. The best way to prepare for the shutdown of IE after June 15th is to do it ahead of time,” the company said in a statement.

Microsoft recommends using Edge. It has a built-in Internet Explorer mode that allows you to download some sites in IE compatibility mode, so companies don’t have to struggle with the transition. By the way, Microsoft Edge is already included as the default browser in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
