Last year, after several years of development, OPPO finally launched its first sophisticated smartphone in the Chinese market called OPPO Find N. The device went on sale a few days after its announcement, priced at 7,699 yuan (~$1,164).

A new report from China states that OPPO is preparing to launch another sophisticated smartphone, but this time with a sophisticated design. It seems that OPPO is following the same strategy as Samsung, which first launched sophisticated book-style phones in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold line, and then a relatively inexpensive folding smartphone-clamshell shell in the form of the Galaxy Z Flip line.

There are other brands that are releasing smartphones with sophisticated clamshells. Huawei recently launched a similar smartphone called Huawei P50 Pocket. Motorola entered this field with the Moto Razr smartphone.

According to reports, OPPO’s sophisticated smartphone of the future is more affordable than its rivals in the Chinese market. Rumor has it that it will go on sale in China for about 5,000 yuan, or about $755. By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 retails for 7,399 yuan (~$1,118) in China.

The phone’s specs are still unknown, apart from a set of chips that are said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC. In that case, we expect the phone to launch in the third or fourth quarter of this year. Source
