Now in our country only two types of sausage are planned in commercial volumes: domestic and Chinese. And forget about this previously mentioned spectrum, as if about a sweet dream. There will be little-known nameplates, expensive cars, the quality of which varies from none to acceptable. All. Disputes about real Japanese or German reliability are a thing of the past, as is the confrontation between Bavaria fans and Stuttgart fans.

New times have arrived

In fact, auto analysts have known this for a long time, but they don’t advertise it too much. Sales volumes have been growing since the beginning of the year, but the relationship between the brands has changed slightly. Here are the top five manufacturers and their market share in April: Lada – 33.4%, Chery – 12.2%, Haval – 9.0%, Geely – 9.4%, Kia – 4.5%. Compare with January this year: Lada – 39%, Chery – 12.2%, Haval – 9.1%, Geely – 7.7%, Kia – 5.1%. And now let’s remember the cases of yesteryear – pre-sanctions 2021. Who ruled there? That’s right, Lada, Kia, Renault, Hyundai, Skoda. As they say, feel the difference.

Of course there will be some progress. In particular, the “Chinese” will boast for themselves more than half of the market – do not go to the grandmother. Leaders will increase volumes, outsiders will slowly overtake them – the same Changan and JAC are on the rise. Kia, somehow surviving through parallel or semi-legal factory imports, will fly out of the top five, as it won’t be able to resist the products of the Middle Kingdom, which haven’t thrown up all sorts of obstacles. And here it will be for us an inferior alternative to the wide range discussed above, which is proposed to be forgotten indefinitely.

Change of priorities

As for budget cars (not in prices, but in consumer qualities, because prices are exorbitant “not just for everyone”), the segment will be completely closed by the rigid AvtoVAZ. Of course he cannot keep the current 33%, but the share will remain significant. People have already accepted that all of us is an antediluvian Granta. And reluctantly they buy it, because they have to drive. In April, every third new car registered in Russia was a Grant.

Priorities have changed and milestones now lead not to the west, but to the southeast, and in its truncated form. In the same China, on the road, in addition to their own products, premium “Germans” are not uncommon, in large cities – the dominance of “Americans”. Unfortunately, such a variety of genera and species does not shine for us.
