The volume of vehicle deliveries from Japan to Russia in April 2023 has increased by 77% compared to the same period last year, the local finance ministry announced. At the same time, motorcycle exports to our country increased by 86.4%, non-ferrous metals by 350% and rubber products by 208%. They also started sending more audio and video equipment (by 51.8%). On the other hand, exports of steel and iron products from Russia almost came to a standstill – they fell by 97.9% compared to April 2022.
Speaking about the cars that are currently being exported from Japan to Russia, it should be borne in mind that we are mainly talking about used right-hand drive models. Since almost all local car manufacturers stopped official supply of their products to the domestic market last year. On the other hand, more than 200,000 Japanese cars “beusheks” were imported into our country through the Vladivostok customs last year.
