Mercedes-Benz S-class gets coolest autopilot

Technology does not stand still! And as always, the trends in the global car industry are set by the German Mercedes. The new S-class thus received an autopilot Drive Pilot on the third level, which means that the driver no longer has to grip the steering wheel.

From May 17, the new autonomous vehicle control system can be optionally installed on the flagship Mercedes-Benz S-class for 5,000 euros, which is about 375,000 rubles in our money.

For this amount, the driver basically turns into a passenger, because during the operation of the latest self-driving system, it is no longer necessary to press the hands on the steering wheel. This function allows the car to maneuver independently, overtake and change lanes, accelerate and brake. Of course to see obstacles in the roadway, including animals and cars driving in a perpendicular direction, and to read the markings and road signs.

However, in case of an urgent need, the autopilot will ask the driver to take control. Probably in poor visibility and bad roads.
