For the first time in history, a 100% electric car becomes the best-selling car in the world. Tesla’s Model Y has surpassed the Toyota Corolla to become the best-selling vehicle in the first quarter of 2023. The figures were reported by Jato Dynamics and indicate that 267,200 Model Y units were sold in the first quarter., while the Corolla sold 256,400 units and the Hilux, also from Toyota, sold 214,700 units. The number of sales increased by 69% compared to the same period last year. If sales remain strong, the Model Y could be the best-selling car of 2023.
