Plans to build a new high-speed road that could make life easier for tourists and local residents alike have been discussed for several years. And finally, in 2022, the state-owned company closed all issues related to the pre-project part, transportation model, route justification and cost assessment. It remains only to arrange financing: only 50% of the funds will come from the state budget, another 50% is expected from private investors.
Speaking about the Dzhubga-Sochi highway at the Forum of Road Initiatives, Deputy Director of the Construction Department of the Government of the Russian Federation Grigory Volkov quoted French film director Rene Clair as saying: “My film is ready, it just needs to be shot He emphasized that in general the picture is already clear to everyone and the main task now is not to miss the decision, because the road has been built for at least 100 years. That is why the preparation is approached so meticulously.
According to him, the most difficult part of the future “scarf” is the bypass of Adler, which provides a long tunnel and two interchanges. And it is from him that the history of the construction of the high-speed road will begin: by the end of 2023, work on the preparation of territories will begin, and this highway will “go” in 2026. By the way, its construction is estimated at 73.5 billion rubles, with a total project cost of about 1.5 trillion. And yes, Avtodor has money for the first part.
And if the new road begins in Adler, Goryachiy Klyuch will become the second end. It’s just not clear yet which way the “scarf” will go – the track is 99% ready and offers two options. The first is with a turnoff to Goryachiy Klyuch right after Tuapse, and the second is along the coast to Dzhubga, where the highway could connect to the M4 Don. And some figures: the total length is 153.5 or 131.9 km, the tunnels are 35.2 or 91 km.
It is believed that with the opening of the new route, the travel time from Goryachiy Klyuch to Adler will be reduced by five hours to 120 minutes. And about 50% of motorists choose this toll road. In general, great hopes are pinned on it: it should contribute to the development of the region’s economy, which is forecast to receive up to 25 million tourists a year. For comparison, in 2022 this “counter” froze at 7.2 million, and in the year of the Olympics, that is, in 2014, at 4 million.
And in view of the foregoing, the question of the deputy head of the Main Directorate of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Oleg Ponarin, seems to be very correct – they say, well, the “handkerchief” will rest against Adler , and the next step : there are not enough parking spaces in holiday resorts, the streets are narrow. Incidentally, he also spoke out in favor of equipping the track with a system to photograph traffic violations. But it’s too early to get angry: even if they support him, cameras won’t appear on the road any time soon. After all, the road itself will not appear soon: even the approximate dates are not mentioned – no one knows.
