We dare to assume that the lion’s share of car owners has never heard how roadside police officers fine for a dirty windshield in a car. But the traffic police have every right to punish the driver for dirt on the plywood.

Of course, the law not only punishes the motorist for the fact of a dirty windshield, but this gives the military a reason to “dig in”. For example, check whether the windshield wipers in the car are working, and whether the windshield washer fluid is being supplied to the “windshield”. After all, according to the “List of malfunctions and conditions under which driving vehicles is prohibited”, non-working “windshield wipers” will backfire on the driver with a fine of 500 rubles. Let’s say more: the driver will bear the responsibility even if the washing machine freezes. There is no supply of slurry on the glass – get a fine. However, in the summer this fact is irrelevant. But for a broken “concierge”, and even on the passenger side, you have to pay.

Far worse, law enforcement can prohibit further movement by car “until the disturbance is resolved.” And in case of non-compliance with the legal obligation of the inspector of the traffic police, you can also be placed in pre-trial detention for up to 15 days, as stated in art. 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

By the way, windshield wiper breakage is not such a rare phenomenon. And the cause of their failure is often a dead pivot nut. In addition, there are many cases of malfunction of the relay responsible for the operation of the “windshield wipers”. Be that as it may, it is better not to leave the road with such a breakdown. Firstly, it is extremely dangerous, especially in rainy conditions, and secondly, as already mentioned, when meeting with traffic police officers, there is a risk of getting a fine, albeit insignificant, and simply losing the opportunity to continue your journey.
