In addition, a fragment of the R-242 road from the city of Achit to Yekaterinburg with a length of 180 kilometers, as well as all 330 kilometers of the R-351 from Yekaterinburg to Tyumen, can be converted into part of the M12. These parts of the federal road network must come under the control of the state-owned company Avtodor by the end of 2024.

The significance of such a maneuver lies on the surface: the authorities want to save money on the construction of completely new sections of the toll road. Because it is cheaper and faster to reconstruct existing routes.

The further fate of the former national roads can develop in different ways. It is currently believed that even after being included in the M12 they will not be charged money from drivers for travel.
