Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness made history in Brazil this weekend. Between May 5 and May 8, the new Marvel movie drew at least 2.8 million people in theaters, bringing in 62.6 million reais in just 3 days.

This is the biggest opening of the year in Brazil and also the fifth largest in the history of national cinemas. The production dominated about 70% of the country’s cinemas and left little to other films.
