AVTOVAZ has restarted the flagship Vesta, and now it has begun to “reanimate” Largus – a trial assembly of a small batch of cars has already taken place. As for full-fledged production of station wagons and vans, it will begin in September.

Togliatti stopped production of LADA Largus last spring due to an acute shortage of components that the plant faced after the events in February. It took AvtoVAZ several months to scrape together the necessary components, and 1,800 vehicles left the assembly line last summer, and another 500 in December.

In recent months, the Volga residents have focused on the launch of the LADA Vesta NG, and now that the flagship is finally on sale, they are returning to the Largus. According to the Avtograd news community, AvtoVAZ produced several cars in test mode last week and will produce several more “trial” batches until September, before full assembly begins. As for the resumption of sales of station wagons and vans, even the estimated dates have not yet been announced.

It is only known for certain that the restarted LADA Largus will be offered exclusively with a manual transmission for the first time. Two-pedal versions, according to the head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov, should appear in early 2024.
