No wonder it holds the title of the best of all Chinese models presented in Russia for two years in a row. In any case, both consumers and authoritative experts insist on it.

Well, one cannot agree: the designers really managed to strike a balance between elegance and sport, and the engineers – handling and ergonomics. It is therefore not surprising that there is a stable demand for Tugella. But competitors are also alert and new models are rolling onto the market one by one. Included in the cross-coupe form factor. To keep the “attackers” from getting close, Geely decided to pique buyers’ interest by rolling out a new version of the Tugella with a less efficient engine. However, this does not mean at all that the crossover has become worse. And here’s why.

Firstly, after switching back, the car became cheaper by 100,000 rubles. And taking into account the action of special marketing programs, you can buy a model by saving almost 500,000 rubles. Agree: a good bonus for the absence of 38 additional “horses”.

Finally, in terms of dynamics, the device does not compromise the driver at all, as we personally saw during a long test drive.

The four-cylinder turbocharged engine pulls more than 1.8 tons of iron perfectly in any speed range. A torque of 350 Newtons is enough for the eyes. Such a powerful pick-up, which you can already feel from 1800 rpm, is also made possible by a rapid-fire eight-shot “automatic”, which hits all four wheels with precision.

Yes, yes, the ride here remained complete, for which special thanks to the Chinese – driving a crossover is as pleasant as waking up for dinner on vacation. The car literally bites into the asphalt, overcoming sharp turns, as if on rails. Moreover, the construction or rolling is not about the Tugella at all. None other than jewelers worked above the delicate settings of the chassis. We post our endless “likes”.

The controls deserve special attention. No, no design changes were made, but it would be a crime not to say how the Tugella handles. “Baranka” willingly fits in the hands and provokes the pilot to active maneuvers. Why not? The effort is great, the responses are timely, and the feedback is sensitive, like a mother. In general, it is quite pleasant to work with the “edge”.

In conclusion, it may be worth recalling how well the cross coupe is “stuffed”. Comfort is provided by a scattering of smart electronics and safety is provided by an exhaustive set of different systems. In particular, the functions of recognizing traffic signs and dangerous objects on the roadway, broadcasting information along with other built-in indicators on the windshield of the car. The head-up display is an incredibly driver-friendly feature and often only available in luxury segment models.

Geely Tugella has, among other things, a ‘smart’ cruise control, trained to keep a distance from the vehicle in front, but also to accelerate and brake independently. Why not “autopilot”? Of course there are heating of everything and anything, seat ventilation and dual-zone climate control. However, we won’t waste letters listing the full range of “sandwiches” available. Let’s say that compared to the top version, the car has “lost weight” imperceptibly.
